Weaver Nuprep Skin Preparation Gel is a skin preparation gel used prior to the application of surface electrodes. The gel gently removes dead skin cells, skin oils, and other contaminants, helping to reduce skin impedance and improve the contact between the skin and the electrode. This helps enhance signal quality and reduce the risk of interference or artifacts during recordings.
Nuprep is widely used in procedures where surface electrodes are applied to the skin, including EEG, EMG, and Evoked Potential (EP) studies, sleep diagnostics, intraoperative monitoring, audiology, biofeedback, and various cardiology applications such as cardiac stress testing and Holter monitoring.
Nuprep is not a conductive gel, but a skin preparation product. It is often used in combination with Ten20 Conductive Paste, where Nuprep prepares the skin and Ten20 provides a stable conductive connection between the skin and the electrode.
